If I get an apartment through boplats, is it possible to transfer the lease to my friend who is looking for an apartment without actually going through the process of sub-letting it.

If you get an apartment through Boplats, you must sign the lease and live in the apartment yourself. It is not allowed to transfer an apartment lease to another person, as all user accounts and queue points at boplats.se are personal.
If you were to let somebody else live in an apartment that you signed a lease for without clearing the subletting with the landlord first, your lease would be terminated.
Your friend needs to register his own account at boplats.se and apply for apartments for himself.
