  • Hi Joy,

The roller is actually designed to rest on the bottom of the bowl. If you use a very coarse salt, it is possible for the grains to get stuck under the roller. If you are located in the US, feel free to send us an email at: info-us@ankarsrum.com and we will be happy to take a look at any images you would like to send.

  • I have a similar problem with the dough roller on my Ankarsrum: I put the roller on and it drops so it it resting on the bottom of the bowl. It did not do this when I first had my 'srum--several years ago, now. For the first year or so I used only the dough hook and several times I attempted to correct the height from the bowl to the hook according to instructions in some manual I was using at the time. I am not sure the little screwdriver-made adjustments actually worked and I wonder if they didn't release the 'hold' or proper distance of the roller... NB I was completely out of baking for most of a couple of years due to illness and I am only now picking up where I left off.  I need my 'srum back now, please!

  • Hi Rede,

The dough roller is designed to rest on the bottom of the bowl. The adjustment for the hook has nothing to do with the dough roller. Down in the hole where the dough hook fits, there should be a screw. By loosening the screw, you raise the height causing the dough hook to sit higher in the bowl. Tightening the screw will lower the height, causing the dough hook to sit lower in the bowl.

You are welcome to send a video to our office for us to review and make sure everything is positioned correctly but from what you are describing, everything sounds as it should.
