difficulty attaching various accessories to base

I have purchased almost all of the accessories as I use my mixer for every task.  But I'm having difficulty attaching my veggie shredder and pasta accessories to the base.  It's very difficult to seat them all the way down and even more so to remove.  I've had to gently "pry" them off.  Is there a tip you can offer to make this easier?   I've tried to apply a light coat of oil to the base but it's not helping.  All of my accessories are Ankarsrum branded and new...  Thanks for your thoughts
