Hi! I was wondering if there is any plan to come out with a bowl scraper or a lid for the beater bowl like the Bosch Universal has. I would LOVE an Ank, but I bake a lot of cakes and buttercream, and the ability to have the machine scrape the bowl while mixing and have a lid that prevents powder sugar/flour from flying out of the bowl is high on my list of necessities. I was just wondering if maybe this is coming, and if it is, I will get an Ank instead of the Bosch. Thank you!!

    Thanks for the great questions.

    I can tell you there are no plans to make a bowl scraper for the whisk bowl BUT, you can make amazing cakes and frosting in the main bowl with the roller and scraper! 

    As for a lid, the white proofing lid actually fits the whisk bowl but it won't allow you to add ingredients when it is in place. But, it is very important to understand that the lowest speed on the Ankarsrum is a good bit lower than the lowest speed on any other stand mixer. This allows you to add dry ingredients such as powdered sugar without the fear of it poofing out.

  • Thank you so much! Do you know if a mock Swiss meringue frosting could be made in the main bowl? (Beating egg whites and powdered sugar together until glossy and then adding in the butter).

  • Hi,

    Yes it can. You might have to adjust whipping times as the roller is much gentler than a wire whisk and can sometimes take a bit longer, but it does a great job of also whipping cream and making butter.
