The dough hook

I can never get the dough to “attach” to the hook so it could be kneaded. I have tried leaving the hook unlocked so it can roam free/and manually move the arm and also locking it in the middle and bowl~side positions, changed speeds from low to high and nothing helps to get that dough going. It just sits like a lump in the bowl. HELP!! What am I doing wrong?

  • Thank you for your comment. We would encourage you to watch our Masterclass Dough Hook video on YouTube. It sounds like you are trying to do a heavy, low hydration dough, which is actually better suited for the dough roller while the Ankarsrum Dough Hook is more suited to high hydration dough.
