Should the dough knife lay against the bottom of the bowl?

Hello, is the dough knife supposed to reach / touch the bottom of the stainless steel bowl?

  • Hello, yes, the knife is supposed to reach all the way down to scrape the stainless steel bowl effectively.

  • The dough knife/scraper does not do a very good job of cleaning the sides of the bowl.  When kneading bread it seems like there is a layer of dough (maybe 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch of dough) that never get scraped away.  I need to stop the machine and do it by hand. Am I doing something wrong or is the knife/scraper defective?

  • Hi Lily,

sounds like the angle on the dough knife might be slightly off. If you are located in the USA, please reach out directly to our customer support desk so they can open a warranty ticket for you.

  • Hi I just recently purchased an Ankasrum mixer and really do enjoy it, though I am continually having an issue with the dough knife/scraper rubbing against the top inch or so of the stainless steel bowl. It makes a real loud scraping sound and unless I push it away from the side of the bowl it won't stop.  Am wondering if this is the angle of the dough knife or the way the bowl turns?? How should I proceed?

Also please let me know if the bottom of the dough roller is supposed to rub against the bottom of the stainless steel bowl?

    Thanks, Sharon!

  • Hi Sharon,

Regarding the issue with the dough knife, it should be scraping the side of the bowl, but it shouldn't be making so much noise that it becomes disruptive during usage. To better understand the problem, could you please send me a video of when you are using the machine? This will help me assess the situation and provide appropriate assistance.

Regarding the dough roller, it is designed to roll against the bottom of the bowl, so that's working as expected.

Thank you, and have a great day!

    Best regards,
