Mixer Function

Hello, I received my new stand mixer this weekend and turned it on for the first time tonight. I noticed that the stainless steel bowl wobbles when it spins like the bowl is warped. I made sure that it is seated correctly before turning the mixer on. I’m also surprised by how loud the mixer is when it is running since so many reviews mention that it is a quiet machine. My husband said it sounds like a race car. Are these issues normal?

  • There is a natural wobble to the bowl which aid in its ability to mix large, heavy batches of dough. In the last year a switch to a new motor has been underway. This new motor does have a higher frequency sound due to a new material being used in the motor. This new, stronger material aids in increasing the life expectancy of the motor. So though it sounds like your particular mixer is functioning normally, we would be happy to confirm this if you will email our office with a video showing the bowl turning and the motor running. Please include the serial number of your machine as well as a copy of your purchase receipt and send to: info-us@ankarsrum.com
