The oat groats I recently tried aren't flattening out enough. Is there a setting i could change? Can I run them through more than once?

When oat groats don’t flatten, they’re almost always too dry for the rollers.
Do one pass after conditioning (see below). A second pass only helps if the first pass made “almost-flakes.” If so, feed them through once more immediately while they’re still slightly warm/pliable.
Quick conditioning (works wonders)
Mist 1–2% water by weight (about 1–2 tsp per 100 g groats), toss well, seal, and rest 1–3 hours.
For very dry groats, go up to 3% water and rest 4–8 hours in a cool place.
OR steam 30–60 seconds, let the surface dry 5–10 minutes, then flake.
Troubleshooting:
Crumbly/splinters: too dry → add a bit more moisture/rest longer.
Sticky on rollers: too wet → air-dry the groats 15–30 min before flaking.
Feed at a steady, slow rate; slightly warming the groats helps.
Make sure you’re using hulled oat groats (not steel-cut/with hulls).
Good luck!
