What is a voucher and how do I use it?

I have got a voucher. How can I use it?


  • To use a voucher at

    1. You book your travel as usual. 

    2. You choose “Add voucher” at the payment page. Add your voucher number you by clicking at the green button next to the box.

    3. The amount of the voucher will be deducted from the total amount to pay.

    You can pay the rest of the ticket with credit/debit card or Invoice as usual if the voucher don’t cover the whole sum of the booking. It isn’t possible to combine vouchers with SJ BIZ corporate agreement unfortunately. Are you using SJ BIZ? Read more about how you can use it here.

    A voucher can be used at one time only. The whole voucher will be consumed even if the travel got a lower price than the amount of the voucher. Therefore, try to use as much as possible of the amount. For example, you can book more than one ticket/travel at once.

    A voucher will be sent for the difference as an email or SMS to the data provided for reference for the booking, if you have used your rebooking value to an cheaper trip. The voucher will be sent to you within a week and the voucher is valid for one year and can be used for new travels by SJs train.

    You can also use the voucher as payment by our customer service (0771- 75 75 75), visit one of our ticket offices or by agents. Give the voucher number at the time of purchase.

    It is not possible to use the voucher as payment in our app, onboard our trains or at our ticket machines. The voucher isn’t possible to use as payment for other companies.
