the following types of tenancy agreements can exist:
Index rent:
The amount of an index-linked rent is based on the cost of living for all private households in Germany.
The Federal Statistical Office determines the price index for the cost of living and publishes the consumer price index (CPI).
The change in the CPI compared to the same month in the previous year is known as the inflation rate.
If the consumer price index increases, the index rent increases in the same proportion.
In the case of rental apartments whose rental agreement provides for an index-linked rent, we will inform you of the rent increase in good time in text form.
Take a look at your tenancy agreement and check whether you have concluded an index-linked tenancy agreement with us.
Graduated rent:
A graduated rent is an agreement on several future rent increases directly upon conclusion of the contract. A graduated rent agreement is valid if the increased rent or the respective increase amount and the effective date of the increase are set out in the agreement.
You are welcome to check whether a graduated rental agreement exists. In this case, the adjustments are made automatically.
Representative rent:
A representative rent is an overview of the local comparative rent that has been drawn up or recognized by the municipality or by representatives of the interests of landlords and tenants. This can also be accessed online.
The local comparative rent for the apartment is the amount that is usually paid for an apartment of a comparable type, size, furnishings, quality and location in the municipality or in a comparable municipality.
Representative rent thus create market transparency.
For rental apartments with agreements of this type, we will inform you of the change in writing in advance.
