Flight cancelation during crisis

I didn’t pay for cancelation when I was booking my flight. But now there is war in the country that I suppose to go. Do I have the right for refund?

  • What you are entitled to depends on the type of ticket you have booked. If you have only purchased flight tickets, it is not certain that you will be able to get a refund in the event of a cancellation. In that case, the terms and conditions of the flight tickets determine what you are entitled to. Contact the airline to see what options you have in the event of a cancellation. You can also investigate what kind of supprt your insurance company provides you.

    If you have booked your flight tickets and hotel together, a package trip (paketresa), you have the right to cancel and receive a full refund if there are circumstances at the destination that make it not possible or appropriate to go there. The fact that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Utrikesdepartementet) advises against traveling to the destination should be seen as such a reason. If you cancel, it is important that you clearly explain the circumstances that are the basis for you wanting to cancel and get your money back.
