You need to pay to play any map besides world?

This is ridiculous- I have played Geoguessr for years and haven't minded when new things have been added, like ads or other things. But this is a step too far- make it a paid app not a subscription or just rely on ads (as horrible as they are). Don't think I will be playing much longer and I'm sure other people feel the same way.

Yeah, making a subscription out of this is a ridiculous business model for a relatively simple browser game like this.

Would I buy it if it were a one-time payment? Probably. But not if you are restricting free users like you are now...

It's not possible to offer a one time payment when each game you play cost them money. The only way – and I hope it will be done – is to offer game packages. Like "pay $2 for 50 games" (random prices, I have no idea of the actual costs). This would be better for occasional players!
