Updated location on Streetview itself but not through Geoguessr?

I was doing Country Streak and got a location in Hungary. After correctly selecting the location, I decided to click on the black flag icon to reexplore the location. When I did so and Streetview opened in a separate tab, I found that the pictures were fully updated: The camera quality was improved (it was more recent too, with these newer pictures being taken in August 2021), it was a different season, and new signs and telephone poles had been installed.

I'm mostly just curious about it since it didn't cause me any problems, but I also didn't know if this meant that Geoguessr wasn't receiving updated photos from this location for some reason and needed to reach out to Google or something to fix that. I can specify the location if needed. Thanks!

  • It is the Google Maps API that doesn't give the newest pictures after a recent update that is quite broken. Only Google can do something and... well, good luck making Google doing something.
