Increase the character limit for the map description in the new map maker

The old map maker used to allow you to have a fairly long description for your maps. I don't know the exact limit, but it was long enough for basically all purposes.

However, in the new map maker the length of the description text was inexplicably limited to 256 characters. This is problematic for a lot of maps, which need a little more room to describe all the relevant info. Take a map like A Community World for example - its description runs at 364 characters, and now its description can't be changed because the new map maker will cut off the description at 256 characters.

Can this be fixed?

  • Also if you can allow line breaks this would be great.

  • how about 1024? 512 still not enough imo

  • Any updates on this? A fix of this issue would be really appreciated.

I also second Mapper and Gritt's suggestions of allowing line breaks and an even larger character limit than before - this would be really helpful for certain maps that need more than just a quick explainer.

  • apparently theres also a related limit on the map name, how about increasing to 64?

  • I noticed that you raised the limit from 256 to 512 characters. Thank you! However, whatever the limit of the old map maker was, it was higher than 512. Two of my maps have descriptions with more than 512 characters (617 and 847). I still can't edit the descriptions of these maps. It would be nice if you raise the limit to (at least) 1024 characters. Thank you!
