Hidden / lost official maps?

Hi,

A while ago I noticed Geoguessr had more official maps than the ones visibles in the official map list. I assume they're official as they use the official URL (https://geoguessr.com/maps/<country name>) when custom maps have an ID in the end instead of an actual name, and there is no author name and location count like official maps.

For example there is a map of Ireland that actually works: https://geoguessr.com/maps/ireland

Just by changing the country name in the URL I could find way more maps:
But they don't work. Only Ireland is still working.

The question is why those maps exist? Especially the Irish one which actually works and could be listed in the official maps. Was Geoguessr supposed to have more official maps at some point? The fact people actually played them in 2017 is quite interesting because this means they were functional at this time.

Just me being curious about this 😀
